Click here to find participating credit unions and their locations nationwide.

Account Services

How can I open a new account?

UniWyo FCU offers savings and checking accounts—all with NO ANNUAL FEES.

You can open a new account 2 ways. First, you can apply online at www.uniwyo.com and click on the link to the left that says "Open a New Account". You can also contact us by fax/mail or in person to initiate the request. We will create an account card that must be signed in person or faxed/mailed with a notarized signature. We will also keep a copy of your government-issued ID in compliance with the Patriot Act. A savings account must be active before we can add checking or any other accounts. The minimum deposit in savings must be $5, and there are no minimum deposit requirements for checking.

How do I close an account, add a checking account to my savings, or open a money market/other account?

You can close an account via fax/mail by sending your signed request, along with a copy of your driver’s license, to the above information. Please include instructions for disbursing the remaining balance in your account. You can also come to the main office to close your account and take the remaining funds.

You can add a checking, money market, or other account to your existing savings account by notifying us with a signed and faxed/mailed request or in person. For faxed/mailed requests we will send you an updated account card that must be signed in the presence of a notary and returned to the credit union. We may also request a copy of a government-issued ID in accordance with the Patriot Act if we do not already have one on file. Checking accounts have no minimum balance requirements but money markets require a minimum balance of $2,500 to earn the current rates.

How do I add a joint member to my account?

If you are a primary member on an account you can fax/mail us a signed request or stop by the credit union to add a joint(s) to your account. If the joint you wish to add is not with you or if you fax/mail your request we will flag your account and they can stop by with their government-issued ID and sign the account card. If a joint cannot stop by the credit union we can mail an account card to them that must be signed/notarized and returned with a copy of their government-issued ID to the credit union before we can add them to your account. Because joints are part-owners of the entire account they are added to the full account and not just checking, savings, etc.

How do I set-up/stop/change an automatic payment/transfer from my account?

You can start, stop, or make changes to any automatic payments/transfers with a signed request by fax/mail or in person. If you want to make loan payments or transfers within accounts at the credit union the signed request is all that is necessary. Please include the account name and account number of both accounts that the transfer will effect.

If you would like to start, stop, or make changes to payments/transfers outside of the credit union we will need the signed request along with the following information:

Financial Institution name
Financial Institution address
Financial Institution routing number

And

Name on the account
Address on the account
Account number

If you have an automatic payment set-up from one account at the credit union to another account at the credit union and you have insufficient funds to cover the transfer on the requested date the payment will automatically stop and you will need to begin the “start” process again.

How do I open a Share Certificate (CD)?
