UniWyo made a pledge and paid $250,000 to establish two scholarship programs at UW. The money was matched 100% by the State of Wyoming to create a fund of $500,000 from which the UniWyo FCU Distinction Scholarships and the UniWyo FCU Study-Abroad Scholarships are drawn annually.
This fund shall be used to make scholarship grants for need-based scholarships for University of Wyoming undergraduate students who are Wyoming residents. The scholarship may support tuition or other costs associated with a University of Wyoming education, including university sponsored study abroad. To be eligible for this scholarship award an applicant must also be a member of the UniWyo Federal Credit Union.
Scholarship grants for expenses associated with study abroad (tuition, international and in-country transportation, room and board, health/safety insurance, books, materials, etc.) for University of Wyoming undergraduate students who seek to enhance their education with study, work, or internships abroad.
To be eligible for this scholarship award, an applicant must also be a member of the UniWyo Federal Credit Union and meet additional merit and financial need criteria established by the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director of the Global Engagement Office and the Director of Student Financial Aid.
Recipients of scholarships shall be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Global Engagement Office. Applicants are also encouraged to apply for the Dick and Lynne Cheney Study Abroad Grant. However, applicants may only accept one scholarship from the Global Engagement Office for the same program abroad.
